About Tony and Why I Can Help You Make More Money
Hi!
Most of the time, when you click on this section in someone’s website, the author tries to "Wow!" you with all the stuff he or she has done.
Of course, that’s fair enough.
And most of these sections read more or less the same.
"I did this great thing and that great thing and this other great thing. And while I'm at it, let me tell you my latest great thing. And before I forget, did I tell you about this other great thing I did?"
And, if you didn’t realize, most of these "About So-and-So" sections are shamelessly embellished.
As you read these sections, keep in mind what Mark Twain wrote in Huckleberry Finn, "Most of what I’m going to tell you is true."
Only politicians are better at blurring the line between reality and fantasy.
Nevertheless, tradition and perhaps your own curiosity compel me to tell you a little about myself and, more importantly, why who I am qualifies me to help you make more money.
However, I’m going to do this without the usual superlatives and occasional flights of fancy.
And most of what I’m going to tell you is true.
I used to be a minister.
I taught Sunday lessons for 13 years. To this day, I have a hard time standing in front of a group and not asking for an offering.
Although I was fortunate to have enjoyed many wonderful experiences, my most unique and memorable moments were doing Sunday services for a church that met in a funeral home.
I loved that little church. It was the church to die for.
And I really did love that little church. I got along with the people very well and stay touch with some to this day. The community remains one of my favorite places to visit.
You might say I was the luckiest stiff in the morgue.
Really. I'm dead serious.
Every week, I poked fun at the idea of meeting in a funeral home.
I suggested church picnics in the local cemetery and a church cruise on "Club Dead."
And, if you are Bible student, you can imagine the fun I had with the raising of Lazarus.
Most either groaned or chuckled. Some died laughing.
As you might guess, this was a temporary situation for the church (although it lasted about 3 or 4 years, as best I remember). So I tried to make the people laugh about it and deal with it from a light-hearted state of mind.
And I came to a new understanding of how important it is to manage one’s mental and emotional state. And I understood anew how humor, stories, images, and feelings change one’s perspective so dramatically that you’d swear they could raise the dead.
So here are the four reasons I’m in the business of helping people like you empower your mind and make more money:
- I can make money doing this.
- I’m endlessly fascinated with how the mind works.
- I’ve had my ups and downs too.
- It’s my most powerful place of service.
The first reason is the most obvious. The main reason to be in any business is to make money.
However, reason number two is a wonderful side benefit for me.
I have an endless fascination with how the mind works. And that’s why the mind is my primary focus.
If I wasn’t doing this, I’d probably be a psychiatrist, psychologist, or a sage on a mountain top with a hotel, spa, casino, and souvenir shop.
Because my focus is the mind, I make no claim whatsoever about teaching how to find bargain properties, how to discern the best opportunities for covered calls, or how to start in business from your spare bedroom and end up a multi-national giant.
I assume that you either know that already or are in the process of learning it. And there’s a lot of people out there more qualified than I to teach those subjects.
However, I do know how to empower the mind so that you can use what they teach to the best of your talent and drive.
Here’s an illustration about what’s important and fascinating to me.
I heard Donald Trump answering questions after a speech. I was thinking about what makes him who he is. I was (and still am) curious about how his mind works.
As I was wondering what makes him tick, someone asked "How do I protect myself from partners in a limited partnership?"
The Donald exclaimed, "That’s exactly the kind of question all of you should be asking!"
Well, I guess that’s why I’ll never be a real estate billionaire.
The third reason has to do with the fact that I’m more interested in your heart and not necessarily your level of success.
I’ve had my share of financial ups and downs. Very likely, you’ve had yours as well.
So I know what it’s like to:
- Spend a bunch on books, CD’s, videos, seminars, boot camps, consulting programs and the like with painfully little to show for it.
- Live on credit cards while trying to get a business off the ground and feel that sinking feeling when I saw the bills.
- Try a thing or two or three, fail, and have to pick yourself up, keep going, and still pay off those credit cards.
- Feel a little embarrassed when you file your taxes because, once again, you didn’t make all that much and you wonder what kind of fool the accountant thinks you are.
And I know the mental and emotional states of mind that go with these experiences because I’ve walked this path of seeking opportunity with you.
And that, for our purposes, is more meaningful than a Trump-sized resume.
However, I still know what it's like to close a deal and make almost twice my church salary in year.
Sort of eases the pain of not asking for an offering when I speak before a group.
So my business is the mind and not the "nuts and bolts" of how to make money.
Have you ever heard a money-making guru say "I don’t understand why more people don’t do what I tell them to do?"
In this moment, the guru speaks truth. He or she really doesn’t understand why more people don’t do what he or she does.
However, I do. After all, it’s my business to know.
And it’s my passion.
Fortunately for me, this is a subject that I passionately want to explore myself. After 13 years of Sunday lessons, I can assure you that the minister gets more out of the lesson than the congregation.
And I'll tell you something else that's usually not obvious. The most effective lessons a minister teaches are about the very things he or she needs to learn the most.
Why?
Those are the lessons that require "heavy lifting."
And you get paid to do the "heavy lifting." What a concept!
So this brings me to my fourth reason.
When I was a minister, my mission was to empower people to deal with life’s challenges with poise, dignity, and confidence.
In a sense, my mission hasn’t changed. I still want to empower your mind and, therefore, empower you.
Sure, our main focus will be money and business matters. So what?
Very few of us can be happy, healthy, and well-adjusted when we feel financially confined or, worse yet, the wolves are howling at the door.
With more confidence, more resources, and fewer short-circuits, you will certainly avoid more "downs" and enjoy more "ups."
My experience as a minister and later in business leads me to conclude that this is my most powerful place of service in the world.
So, in a way, I’m still doing my "minister thing." However, now I get to stay up late and party on Saturday night. And I can sleep in on Sunday morning.
I probably won’t end up a billionaire. However, I hope to empower one or two.
And even if you don’t become a billionaire, I’d be pleased if you became really rich and really happy at the same time.
If you want to know more about me, read my articles and e-courses!
The psychologist C. G. Jung wrote that every psychology is a personal confession. I can say the same thing about a Sunday lesson and all the articles and e-courses I’ve written for you.
Everything I know (and all that I don’t know yet) is on public display.
Once again borrowing from Mark Twain, he said, "If you want to know who I am, read my books. It’s all there."
I’d say the same thing.
And most of it is true.
In richness and success,
